Business Period Project Coordinator Funding Scheme
Infrastructure 2021 - 2022 RINA Consulting S.p.A. GWP

Project description

Drin River Basin Investment PlanThe riparian countries of the Drin River—Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia—are increasingly affected by the impacts of climate change. These include periods of extreme heat during the summer and heavy rainfall during the colder seasons, leading to alternating droughts and floods that significantly impact society, the economy, and the environment. The total estimated losses for the entire basin amount to roughly $10 million USD.

The Drin Strategic Action Plan (SAP) aimed to establish clear priorities for addressing the major transboundary issues. The SAP for the Drin basin outlined approximately 100 management actions to be implemented by the riparian countries.
