Project description
The Pointe Noire Sanitation Project addresses critical issues related to improving access to sanitation, promoting hygiene, and advancing the government's goals of sustainable and equitable human development. Social needs require to enhance living conditions and contribute to the development of sanitation infrastructure, overhaul the sanitation sector, and strengthen both governmental and donor efforts in the water supply sub-sector.
The starting point of the Pointe Noire Sanitation Project is to establish a planning tool that sets fundamental guidelines and harmonizes programs for runoff water management in Pointe-Noire City. This tool will support the establishment of the basis to:
- improve sustainable access to sanitation;
- enhance health conditions and hygiene-related behaviours;
- protect the environment from pollution.
RINA scope of supply
RINA's assignment encompassed various contributions across different project phases:
- Phase 1: Development of the Master Plan.
- Phase 2: Conducting preliminary and detailed studies, including Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and environmental and social management plans for priority works.
- Phase 3: Preparation of tender documents.
- Phase 4: Support for contract awarding.
- Phase 5: Supervision and quality control of the works.
